• Promotes blood circulation. “From a Chinese medicine perspective, the Tai Yin meridians (made up of the lungs and spleen) and the Yang Ming meridians (made up of the large intestine and stomach) are responsible for the overall health of our skin. “When we gently scrape the skin on our face with our Gua sha tool, we are stimulating our Yang Ming meridians. We are also sending a signal to our body that this area needs more blood circulation.”
  • Improves fine lines and wrinkles. Gua sha “may temporarily improve the appearance of recent and very mild wrinkles.” However, for long-standing wrinkles, Gua sha should not be the first choice.
